The Mummers Parade is a family-friendly New Year’s Day celebration that has delighted visitors from Philadelphia and around the world for more than a century.
In 2026, we proudly celebrate 125 years of Mummery and mark the first parade honoring our nation’s 250th anniversary: a double milestone in Philadelphia’s rich history.
Each year, more than 10,000 costumed performers bring music, color, and creativity to Broad Street, continuing a tradition that is uniquely Philadelphia.
With record-breaking viewership and Emmy-nominated broadcasts, the Parade continues to grow in reach and impact, sharing the joy and artistry of the Mummers tradition with fans everywhere.

Entertainers will perform along the parade route, with special viewing areas located at 17th & Market Streets and along Broad Street at Sansom, Pine, and Carpenter Streets.
Beginning at 11:00 a.m., fans are also invited to visit the String Bands in their staging areas along Market Street (17th–21st Streets) and JFK Boulevard (17th–20th Streets) to catch a behind-the-scenes look as they put the finishing touches on their 2026 routines before performing live in front of City Hall.

"Your Mayor, the Mayor of Philadelphia, is a team sport person. I grew up in Little League as a cheerleader, and I ran in track, so I’ve been a part of team sports. So, when I look at today, I think about all of the work that goes into preparing. I’m talking about the people making costumes, the strings, all of the instruments, the practicing, the discipline that it takes, and the commitment to be at a certain place at a certain time to do a certain thing to participate on this one day. So, I’m excited about that, and I think that’s the best, and it represents the best of what Philadelphia can offer."
